A Time of Serenity and Harmony, Enveloped in a Sea of Hydrangeas - Jiyuzan Shifuku Zen Temple

Shifukuji Temple

Shifukuji Temple, officially known as Jiyuzan Shifuku Zen Temple, is located in Kitayama, Aoba Ward, Sendai City, Miyagi Prefecture, Japan. This temple belongs to the Rinzai sect, Myoshinji school, and many hydrangeas are planted in its precincts. If you visit during the rainy season at the end of June, you can fully enjoy the beauty of these hydrangeas.

Hydrangeas, which mainly bloom from June, are deciduous shrubs. You can see hydrangeas not only all over Japan, but also at Shifukuji Temple in Sendai. There are many varieties, with flowers in various colors such as blue, purple, white, and pink.

A Beautiful Temple where Tranquility and Harmony Pervade

Viewing the hydrangeas at Shifukuji Temple during the rainy season was a unique and beautiful experience. Walking along the approach where hydrangea flowers bloom profusely and admiring the hydrangeas around the main hall presented a vibrant landscape that made one forget the rainy season.

Additionally, its quietness and solemnity provided a feeling of release from the hustle and bustle of the day.
